Delete your Pocket Lyrics account

Pocket Lyrics is made by Goodmark Limited (New Zealand). You can delete your account at any time, either in the app or by emailing us. Deleting it removes your account and everything stored in it.

Delete it in the app (fastest)

  1. Open Pocket Lyrics and sign in.
  2. Tap the gear in the top right to open Settings.
  3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  4. Enter your password and tap Delete account again.

Your songs, sets and account are deleted straight away. You'll be signed out on this device, and your other devices will sign out when they next connect.

If you want to keep your songs, go to Settings > Import & export > Export all songs first. It saves them as a ChordPro file you can open in any text editor or import into another app.

Ask us to delete it

If you can't open the app (for example you've lost access to the device or forgotten your password), email support@goodmarklabs.com from the address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm by replying to that address and delete the account within 30 days. We can only act on requests sent from the account's own email address, because we have no other way to check it's you.

If you've forgotten your password but still have your email, you can also reset it from the sign-in screen with Forgot password and then delete the account in the app.

What is deleted

  • Your account: the email address, user ID and (hashed) password you signed up with.
  • Every song you saved: titles, artists, keys, chords, lyrics and any YouTube links you added.
  • Every set.
  • The offline copy of your songs on the device you deleted from. Other devices remove theirs when they next connect.

Everything is removed from our live systems straight away. Our cloud provider (Google) may hold residual copies in its backup systems for a limited period before they are overwritten, normally no longer than 180 days. Nothing is kept or used after that.

What is not deleted

  • Copies of your songs you exported or shared yourself (files on your device, emails, messages). Those are yours to keep or delete.
  • Emails you sent to support, which we keep for up to 2 years and then delete.
  • Anonymous install counts that Apple and Google show us, which can't be linked to you. Pocket Lyrics itself collects no analytics.
